Areia was born in 2003 with a clear cosmopolitan and international vocation. The first choice was for a name – Areia – in Portuguese, and for a concept, that of Chill Out, still unknown in Spain but familiar to the foreign public.

Being located in one of the main arteries of Madrid’s Chueca district, one of the most visited neighborhoods in Madrid, Areia Chill Out has enjoyed the favor of the public, both locals and visitors, in these 19 years. In fact, the establishment appears referenced in the main tourist guides such as Time Out, Le Routard or Lonely Planet.

In this time, Areia has established itself as an exotic oasis located in the heart of the capital, ideal for relaxing in its corners in the afternoon, and also to enjoy the liveliest night enjoying one of its delicious cocktails. All this accompanied by the music of the best DJs in the city: nu disco, funk, house, tropical house, urban… are the styles that usually sound in the local.

The public is also very diverse: locals, expatriates and visitors between 25 and 40 years old make up the bulk of our clientele, although everyone is welcome.

From presentations to birthdays, to singular lunches, to shoots and photo shoots that require a set with personality, there are multiple possibilities offered by this chameleon-like venue.
